About the event

Join Us on September 15th at the Petroleum Club of Anchorage for the 2023 FBI CAAA Quarterly Event.  Our speaker will be Andrea Jacobson, retired Investigator with Alaska State Troppers who will be speaking on how child abuse investigations have morphed to much more technology-based methods of investigations and interesting anecdotes from some of her past investigations.  We will also hear from Gwen Adams of Priceless on their program & how the community can make a difference.

Andrea Jacobson has been in law enforcement for 35 years encompassing 21.5 years with Ketchikan PD where most of her time was spent as an investigator with an abnormally large number of child abuse investigations. She spent 14.5 years as an Investigator for the AK State Troopers.  She was assigned to the Technical & Financial Crimes Unit that involved investigations of Child Pornography and Fraud.   She now prefers to be called retired as opposed to just plain tired.

Gwen Adams has been married to Mark for 36 years. They have four grown children, all married, and 8 grandchildren. After spending 23 years in women’s ministry and as a discipleship pastor, Gwen started a non-profit called Priceless which is an organization that trains up the faith community to mentor survivors of sex trafficking.  In addition to the mentoring program, Priceless has grown and now has a cyber-sex crimes team, outreach team with local shelters, a mentoring program for at risk youth to prevent trafficking along with several awareness and training campaigns.

In 2012 Gwen was asked by Governor Sean Parnell, to take part in the Task Force for Crimes of Human Trafficking in Alaska. Since that time, Gwen has had an active role with every governor in developing legislation to combat the crime and been a fierce advocate to change the direction of sex trafficking on Alaskan soil.  Gwen speaks all over the country helping communities fight back against trafficking. Gwen and her team won the FBI Directors Award in Washington DC for her community service.  Gwen has authored a book called Crazy Church Ladies: The Priceless Story of an Unlikely Group Upending Trafficking.
