2020 Annual FBI ANC CAAA Meeting on Friday, Jan. 17th from 6:00 to 8:30 pm at the Petroleum Club of Anchorage. Meet fellow alumni, elect Alumni Association officers, learn about current FBI ANC CAAA projects & hear from SAC Jeff Peterson on the Jimmy Lee Dykes case.
On January 29, 2013, a hostage crisis, lasting almost seven days, began in the Wiregrass Region near U.S. Highway 231 in Midland City, Alabama. Jimmy Lee Dykes, a 65-year-old Vietnam War-era veteran, boarded a Dale County school bus, killed the driver, and took a five-year-old boy hostage. On the afternoon of February 4, law enforcement agents entered the bunker where Dykes was hiding, killed Dykes, and rescued the child. A great presentation about all the different FBI assets that were used in this investigation, with a number of video and audio, adding to this compelling case.
